IPL venue analysis across 12 stadiums shows a total capacity of 599,908 with an average of ~49,992 seats. Narendra Modi Stadium (132,000) is a clear…
The states with the greatest total venue capacity are Gujrat (132,000), West Bengal (68,000), and Telangana (55,000). A bar chart has been generated showing the total venue capacity for all states, making it easy to compare rankings visually.
The analysis of average venue capacity by state has been completed. A bar chart and data table have been generated showing how average venue capacities compare across different states, ranked from highest to lowest.
A total of 12 cities host venues, with a combined capacity footprint of 599,908 seats. Ahmedabad leads all cities with the largest capacity at 132,000. A bar chart has been generated showing the total capacity for each city, color-coded by size, along with a data table for detailed reference.
The venues with the highest seating capacities are dominated by iconic Indian cricket stadiums. A horizontal bar chart and data tables have been generated showing the top venues ranked by capacity. The largest is Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, with a massive 132,000 seats — making it the world's largest cricket stadium. It is followed by Eden Gardens in Kolkata (68,000), Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad (55,000), and MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai and Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, both with 50,000 seats.
The analysis explored how venues are distributed across three size tiers based on seating capacity: Small (<40,000), Medium (40,000–70,000), and Large (70,000+). Two visualizations were generated to illustrate the distribution — a bar chart showing the count of venues in each tier, and a histogram displaying the overall spread of capacity values across all venues.
The analysis explored which home teams are associated with multiple stadiums and which venues are shared by multiple home teams. Two bar charts were produced: one showing the number of venues per home team, and another showing how many home teams are linked to each venue. Multiple supporting data tables were also generated to map out these relationships in detail.
The venues have been ranked by seating capacity from largest to smallest. Two data tables have been generated showing each venue/stadium alongside its capacity and home team information. The top 3 venues by capacity are highlighted for quick identification.
The venues dataset contains 12 IPL stadiums spread across 12 unique cities and 12 different states in India. The total combined seating capacity across all venues is 599,908, with an average capacity of approximately 49,992 per venue. The largest venue is Narendra Modi Stadium (home to GT) with a massive 132,000 capacity, while the smallest is HPCA Stadium (home to PBKS) with 23,000 seats. A bar chart has been generated showing all venues ranked by capacity with color-coding by home team, and a full summary table is available sorted alphabetically by state.
Using the IQR method, the analysis identified 1 outlier venue out of all stadiums. The interquartile range was calculated as 17,623 (Q1: 33,627 and Q3: 51,250), setting the valid capacity range between 7,192 and 77,684. Narendra Modi Stadium, home to GT, far exceeds the upper bound with a massive capacity of 132,000 — making it a significant statistical outlier. A box plot has been generated showing the full capacity distribution with all data points plotted, clearly highlighting this outlier.
The analysis successfully produced a pie chart and data table showing how frequently each home team appears in the dataset, along with their percentage share of all venues. The donut-style pie chart visually breaks down each team's representation, making it easy to compare which teams host the most matches. The accompanying table provides the exact counts and percentages for every team in the dataset.
